Pontocho street is one of Kyoto's famous entertainment districts. A 5minute walk from our hotel, it refers to a long, narrow street that stretches 500 meters from north to south. The plover drawn on the lantern is the crest of Pontocho, and it was invented when the KAMOGAWA ODORI was first held in 1873, and it is said that the plover was designed. It will be a great location to stroll around Pontocho in the chill of the evening.

Nishiki Market

1km | 10min walk

Nishiki Market, known in Japanese as Nishiki Ichiba, is a narrow shopping street in Kyoto. Often referred to as “Kyoto’s Kitchen” or “Kyoto’s Pantry,”. There are plenty of enticing things, such as seasonal and fresh products, as well as unique items you won't find elsewhere.

Many small shops, restaurants, and other attractions are found nearby, including Tenryuji Temple, Arashiyama's famous bamboo groves, and pleasure boats that are available for rent on the river.

Yasaka Shrine

1km | 10min walk

Standing at the threshold where Gion meets the wooded hills of Higashiyama, Yasaka Shrine has served as Kyoto's spiritual crossroads for over 1,300 years. By day, its grounds offer a peaceful passage into Maruyama Park; by evening, the warm glow of countless stone lanterns transforms the precinct into one of the city's most atmospheric night walks.

Kiyomizudera Temple

1km | 10min walk

Kiyomizu-dera Temple, registered as a World Heritage Site (World Cultural Heritage), is a temple known for its "Kiyomizu Stage." The view of the city from the main hall overlooking the cliff is a must-see. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery no matter when you visit, spring, summer, autumn or winter.
